The Woods encapsulates our values of outdoor exploration and learning, growing and supporting one another. Their fantastic outdoor provision means their classroom is extended seamlessly to the outdoors making it a great space for our preschoolers to connect with nature!

The children in The Woods have so much fun engaging in a range of activities supporting their learning and development. Theme based activities, child-interest led activities and spontaneous learning opportunities all contribute to the wonderful learning experiences on offer in The Woods. With a focus on outdoor learning, the children in the preschool room will spend all day exploring mini-beasts, the changes in nature and learning key skills through the aid of natural materials; putting sticks in size order, counting leaves, and making mud pies!

The Woods offer a structured preparation for your child’s journey to school. Although learning focuses on children’s interests, their daily schedule focuses on child initiated learning, adult led teaching and individual or small group learning to encourage participation and concentration on extended curriculum provision. With a purposefully designed garden area we can offer indoor/outdoor learning to challenge the potential of older children’s minds with higher level thinking and resources to support independent exploration.
