Calendar of Events for Autumn Term 2019


9th - Beginning of the Autumn Term

16th - 20th- Harvest Celebrations - We are asking for donations of tinned food throughout the week for our local food bank! Staff, children and parents (who wish to join us) will be taking the donations to the food bank on Friday 20th September at 10.30am.

20th - Lilliput Scarecrow Ball - Staff and children will be dressing up as a scarecrows for a Harvest Lunchtime Celebration including bread baked by the children!

23rd - Autumn Equinox - Children and staff will be dressing in brown, red, orange or yellow as we celebrate the first day of Autumn.

30th - Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) - Children will be tasting the traditional chopped apple dipped in honey and we will be finding out more about how Jewish New Year is celebrated.


1st - 31st - Black History Month - Throughout this month we will be learning more about the African and Caribbean Heritage.

1st - 31st - The Big Draw - This month we will also be doing lots of drawing with the children in order to create our very own gallery of the children’s work!

4th - Grandparents Day- Grandparents will be invited to come along for a special Stay and Play from 10am - 11am.

21st - 25th - Diwali Celebration Week - The children will be learning all about the story of Rama and Sita and how this festival is celebrated around the world. Parents and carers will also be invited to a special Diwali themed ‘Stay and Play’ on Friday 25th October from 10am - 11am.

28th - 1st November - Half Term for funded only children

28th - 1st November - Magic and Mystery Week of Wizardry

31st - Pumpkin Picnic - The children will be dressing up as pumpkins for a lovely pumpkin themed day of fun!


4th - 8th - Fire Safety Week - The children will be learning about fire and how to stay safe as well as enjoying a visit from the local Fire Brigade!

5th - Build a Bonfire - The children will be enjoying a hot potato and marshmallow treat!

11th - World Science Day - The children will be taking part in lots of fun experiments in line with their current themes!

29th - St Andrews Day - The children and staff will be dressed in blue and white as we celebrate the Patron Saint of Scotland!


16th - Christmas Performance

17th - Christmas Craft Stay and Play – Parents and carers will be joining us for some Christmas themed fun from 10am-11am

18th - Christmas dinner for staff and children

19th - Christmas party day and visit from Santa!

20th - Nursery closes for Christmas break and reopens on Monday 6th January for all children
